Waabashki occassionally stops, looks through the canopy, or holds her nose to the ground and sniffs, before pointing and leading the way. Makade stays behind, to the side, or further ahead. He has a faster walking pace, and so quickly moves from point to point. He stops to look at tracks more than once, or will say something in the language of the wolves that gets Waabishki to stop, while he lays down, and looks through the scope of his rifle at something more distant. He also stops not long after their trip began to sit down, and howl lowdly into the sky. The howl is replied to by another wolf further north, and they continue on their way.
