overall I'd say the convention was high energy. lots and lots of stuff to do and everyone was ready to be fren without soyjacking around.
one of the party rooms had a bunch of arm wrestling going on with chanting "Mares! Mares!" then after arm wrestling they pulled out powdered mare milk and gave people small sample drinks of it (I had some, was good). The mare milk was imported from mongolia or some such country so it had to be dehydrated.
The charity that was picked for mare fair, fallen oak horse rescue, had a table in the vendor hall and when they heard how much money was raised for them, was in tears and exceptionally grateful for everything.
Apparently fallen oak also gets a lot of shit from previous 501c3 board members for how things are ran even though the shit-talkers don't do anything. For this reason they are not concerned about some extra guff from people outside of 4chin for taking mare fair donations.
The amount of money raised for Fallen Oak was insane, second highest for a pony convention ever, over $50k. Not sure how much more but I'd imagine some extra money is going to be held onto so mare fair has a good starting point for next year. Apparently a lot (or most) other pony conventions use a lot of the charity auction money to fund their inability to keep books. Mare Fair has everything paid for already, the only thing they would need is some starting money for next year.

Being a vendor myself (soapone) I didn't notice any LGBTQ flags or banners or art or whatever containing such things that any of the other vendors were selling. I didn't even notice anybody carrying any such things around either.

One person told me after that they wish their friends prodded them more to go to mare fair. There was so much going on for the convention. My brain was kinda mush the entire time, so much that it was difficult to communicate most of the time. I'm probably a bit autistic, but sheesh it was a fair bit worse at the convention.
