Protip for life: if you're in a community where you are universally hated, find a different community. Its bad for your mental health first and foremost to be constantly shit on, and its bad for the community at large to constantly have to shit on you.

How are we able do that? How are we able to single you out on an anonymous board?
Could it be that you constantly leave telltale signs of what a massive nigger you are? That your posts are so low-IQ that everyone knows it's you?

Nothing new has happened. I'm keeping abreast of it and I'll post more in the thread as it occurs but as-is all we've gotten is a bunch of people who know nothing about marine disasters sharing their 20iq takes on marine disasters, and you've already taken care of that ITT so I don't have to post journalists doing it slightly better

Unfortunately its shaping up to be a completely average and boring marine disaster, according to all of my knowledgeable sources it looks like ship lost power, started to drift after it regained power, and interacted with the channel bottom while they had no rudder.

Investigation will likely come up that the ships maintenance was poor, the fuel had issues, or both

I wouldn't call the Key Bridge "critical infrastructure" most news articles are heavily leaning into the fact that its mostly going to impact niggers commuting to their "jobs"

I would avoid any large bridges over shipping lanes though, add it to the list of things you just don't do anymore next to flying

It's shut down the port, and Baltimore port is pretty important to the automobile industry. It has special widened ramps that make it easy to slide cars onto ships, so it won't be easy for cars to simply be moved to another port.
Maybe it's not the most important thing for the country, but it's certainly important to Baltimore.

Take up the White Man's burden—
Send forth the best ye breed—
Go bind your sons to exile
To serve your captives' need;
To wait in heavy harness
On fluttered folk and wild—
Your new-caught, sullen peoples,
Half devil and half child.

Take up the White Man's burden—
In patience to abide,
To veil the threat of terror
And check the show of pride;
By open speech and simple,
An hundred times made plain.
To seek another's profit,
And work another's gain.

Take up the White Man's burden—
The savage wars of peace—
Fill full the mouth of Famine
And bid the sickness cease;
And when your goal is nearest
The end for others sought,
Watch Sloth and heathen Folly
Bring all your hopes to nought.

Take up the White Man's burden—
No tawdry rule of kings,
But toil of serf and sweeper—
The tale of common things.
The ports ye shall not enter,
The roads ye shall not tread,
Go make them with your living,
And mark them with your dead!

Take up the White Man's burden—
And reap his old reward:
The blame of those ye better,
The hate of those ye guard—
The cry of hosts ye humour
(Ah, slowly!) toward the light:—
"Why brought ye us from bondage,
Our loved Egyptian night?"

Take up the White Man's burden—
Ye dare not stoop to less
Nor call too loud on Freedom
To cloak your weariness;
By all ye cry or whisper,
By all ye leave or do,
The silent, sullen peoples
Shall weigh your Gods and you.

Take up the White Man's burden—
Have done with childish days—
The lightly proffered laurel,
The easy, ungrudged praise.
Comes now, to search your manhood
Through all the thankless years,
Cold-edged with dear-bought wisdom,
The judgment of your peers!

Let us see. The ship is a mammoth of 100,000 tons with a huge momentum (inertia), the exit channel is 100% straight, so the rudder was fixed at 0 degree angle because there wasn't any need of correct course to exit the port and pass through the bridge's pillars. Then the question is why the ship steered away from his straight course, in other words, given the ship's inertia, it doesn't look possible any deviation at less, the rudder was moved from the command bridge. All which may point at sabotage.

I would love to give you some leeway because CN assumed you've been watching his videos and doesn't properly explain interaction effects, but keep in mind that the water surrounding the ship weighs significantly more than the ship and can move it around essentially with impunity (this is how ships move)

I don't know if you graduated high school but if you did, you likely learned about the Bernoulli principle. I'm not going to explain it to you in full but the same channel did two videos that do a very surface level overview of interaction effects within channels:

It could be that the idiots simply jerked the steering wheel left and right during the moment where the ship lost profile ion, causing them to go in the wrong direction as soon as it suddenly regained propulsion. An outcome derivative of absolute idiocy.

Okay, if you took basic physics you know how fluid dynamics work on a surface level. In a narrow and shallow channel, you can very easily go from high fluid pressure to low fluid pressure by altering the shape of the channel. As explained in the video you had to have watched because you screecapped the part of the video RIGHT AFTER HE TALKED ABOUT IT the Curtis Bay channel opens on the starboard side of the vessel right as they lose power, which would create a lower pressure on that side (less restriction from the channel on that side means the ship isn't "pushing" the water as hard into the sides of the main channel which would pull the ship to starboard, which is exactly how the ship moved.

>RIGHT AFTER HE TALKED ABOUT IT the Curtis Bay channel opens on the starboard side of the vessel right as they lose power, which would create a lower pressure on that side
I'm pretty aware of low pressure flows because I read about holes made inside boilers of steam locomotives and how they can improve dramatically thermal efficiency. That said, I estimate that low pressure flow on the channel' side is of not practical consequence against a solid body of 100K tons moving at 10 miles an hour.

how much do you think that mass of water weighs around the ship?
I'll give you a hint, if it was less than the weight of the ship, the ship would sink.

Density has to compound with speed flow to make the equation significant. Being an inner channel inside a port, I deduce that the water flow speed is near zero.

Okay, I'm going to give you one last chance to not be a retard before I stop feeding you attention.
How does a ship move in the water? What does it push on to create propulsion? When you answer that question, ask yourself how Newton's second law of motion applies to that answer and you'll have a much different deduction.

If you want to get technical (and you obviously don't because you're bordering on retarded here) here's a paper measuring bottom shear and the squat effect, which are tangentially related to what we're talking about and have a lot of the numbers you're looking for, even if they apply to the bottom and not so much the sides of a vessel: https://www.diva-portal.org/smash/get/diva2:1747340/FULLTEXT01.pdf

If none of this helps you understand what I'm talking about, think about how an aircraft wing works and realize its the exact same principle just with a lighter fluid at higher speeds (but Bernoulli teaches us that we can do this and still achieve similar pressure effects)

The blades push water, every force has a opposite force implied. Then that translates into propulsion.

Okay, so I probably don't have to explain the ground effect to you.
Take a wing under ground effect, then remove the ground. You experience a loss of lift, expressible as a force toward the ground, correct?

Turn the entire thing on its side and put it in water and you've got the force I'm describing here.

These forces are extremely well known to mariners and especially to harbor pilots who interact with these static channels every day, and they'd have been corrected for with rudder inputs normally but the ship lost power as it passed the intersecting channel.

100% this was directly caused by a mechanical failure and 50/50 on if they could have saved it if they were better mariners but I doubt it

also, on a personal note you are the epitome of late boomer/early gen X dunning-kruger and unless you're actively an expert in a thing you're talking about, you should do a lot less talking about it and a lot more listening. You'll get along with people a lot better and the few times you ARE an expert in something people might actually listen instead of calling you a retard faggot (which 99 times in 100 you probably are with the attitude you've expressed in this thread)

Listen to me or not, it probably won't impact me too much since I'm just here for the happening and the anniversary before I fuck off to 7/11 for smokes for another year
